I was not aware of this song till now. It's an odd one, written by someone who had a problem with their Mother perhaps? Apparently this was the worst record ever, and the lead singer was asked not to sing this or any other song again, ever, ha! I think it´s a curious and infectious track, written by someone with a vivid imagination. I dont have any problem, but the song here has a twisted melody giving it a creepy edge and attitude. Not a song I would dedicate to my Mother, but certainly a song which must be added to the list of songs which have lyrics about Mothers..

Mothers Day in the UK today. Here is a good one for those Mothers who have watched their young men to out to war. Probably one of the all time great anti-war songs. Expressing the immorality and absurdity of so many of our militaristic actions. Now today, with Kony 2012 over our heads, and the oil and precious mineral war that undelys, it's a good time to think about these points. George Michael sings about how glorification of aggression and martyrdom is endemic and spread from one generation to another.

I have had a very long and beautiful day today, I have has Sierra winds blasted at my chops, watched Avocet´s and Stilts ride the wave. I have marveled at the wondrous scales of golden fish, belly laughed, seen colors and nature so beautiful, watched vapors mist, cut into pieces by sun rays, eaten Sheppard's Pie, drank Tempranillo from Navarra, taken beautiful photos, and discovered this amazing performance by Solveig Slettahjell. Wow, what a gift of a day, do I thank St. Patric? Life in it´s simplicity can be so, so good.x

Oh Shit, this feels so nice. So hilarious, never heard this played out by any DJ, it´s comical, and acknowledge as an inspiration for some early House tracks. The Ballad of George Collins Ooh, yes...Sam Lees is taking things into another dimension, crossing new territory, long, long overdue. So nice to hear Ballads reworked. As some of you know, I too am currently putting Ballads into new spaces and shipping them into zones they have not been into before. You could call our experiments  Ballads for lost peoples, or ghost tribes. Our new album, will be out by the end of the year, and a demo very soon. Betting back to this little ditty, this has more energy and really hits the nail on the proverbial head.  Cracking combination and meeting point of elements, sounds ideas and people, splendid.

Zoffy, on the other hand has been totally ignored and that's a shame. Here Zoffy offers us a well know Spagetti Western classic. It's been flipped on it's head taking new form with what sounds like a Sitar and space guns! Odd, this maybe, but it feels honest, and it feels right against an alarming and increasing backdrop of false promises and lies, which are projected upon us daily via the media and Policy makers. Malformed music perhaps, but it seems honest and about right for the current  world climate.   

This one also used to do the rounds in many a car joureny alongside various by Aphex Twin, B-12, and the KLF to name a few. More than 20 years on, but still sounds good!

Having a bit of a rewind listening to some older retro tracks which were played back in Manchester in the early 90´s at the real underground clubs and Raves like the Limit and Konspiricy. This tune here Blow Cutter, I doubt was played too much at the Hacienda, Graham Park would have lost most of his guts by the time this track came out and would have been playing a much softer less ballsy digestible, smooth house type fodder...

My old man used to play this one all the time. You never hear this out ever. I dont remember being in any place hearing this. Sad really as this recording slams it out, loud and clear. The origional by the big man is also worth a look at on Youtube. Have a look for it........

We were recently bombarded by a massive Solar Storm, one of the strongest in many years. As a result many amazing times lapse films have been released recording the Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights in splendor. The footage here, is from Nasa, it was recorded before these recent Solar Storms, during this Nasa footage we can enjoy time lapsed magnificence of the Aurora Borealis and much more! The Music on the original version of this film was light years away from this re-score which comes charged (I think), with a magnitude and illumination, much more appropriate for orbiting in space. My edit as you hear here, typically picked up some radioactive particles and interference. Look, listen and imagine yourself, when our beautiful planet is exhausted escaping to another planet like Alpha Centauri! More wonder soon, JN.

I remember the first time I heard about this lady, I just wanted to work with her straight away! Her early doodles were growths, which at the time I likened to those meanderings of my good friends at the time Stock Hausen, and Walkman or Vicky Bennet. The Solex stuff however had another tinge, quite brilliant and not British. I defiantly have some tracks on my hard drive which I prepared for Solex in order for us to collaborate, but we never got round to a full collaboration. Shame...

Just reading all the comments on Youtube about this song, lot´s of people from all over the world writing wonderful messages to Cesária Évora, who sadly just passed away. Recorded Music always with us and in our ears, minds, heart and soul for as long as we desire and live.X.

Sometimes things just sit in odd places. Brujeria or Witchcraft rattled this one out sometime ago. It´s an oddity that just has to be heard. The melody is so early Acid House, so much, but then again it´s not, maybe that´s because it came from Mexico, clearly it´s and odd piece, but none the less, it´s impaled with attitude, stupidity and youth. These boys went on to do many a thing in Mexico under other alias, navigating mostly no the extreme metal front. Lyrically and visually stupid, Mexican New Beat, perhaps? A parody and joke, imagine Farley Jackmaster being a metal head and playing guitar and you may get close.... Sitting in a strange place having real stupid, smoke machine, metal acid house fun, coupled with story telling, Don Quijote, and drugs!! Class?

Yes, I love Nora. She was over this side in Madrid a while back. It was a real pleasure to hang out with her and witness first hand what she does. I do have several photos from the event, perhaps one day, they will come from within the treasure chest and see light.

Jazz has driven the 20th century literally from one end to the other, and it has given birth to many offspring, reinventing itself time and again. No matter how many times it has changed, however, it has always been a medium for individual expression and collective interaction with it´s own characteristic spirit, which is swing, or rather the essence of swing. Born from the element of spontaneity, momentun combustion, ignition, propulsion ( a sense of continuity), interation, transmission and commuication this essence has been called the extra dimension. No justice in this world. This song by Sven Kacirek - Kayamba Tuc Tuc (lawrence edit), is enchanting, sensitive and i´d even say from another world, yet here, it is with just 300 views on Youtube. Real shame no-one wants to know, and another jewel, another treasure, brought to you with pleasure!! ARRRGH.XXX

As I said earlier, love these videos which touch on so many things. Love the nature aspect and messaging that comes through. Real nice to see that video and music have reconnected and now both walk hand in hand, the imes of slapping one ontop of the other are melting away. Who ever this girl/band is, Joanna Lee or not, I think that i´d happily crown her alongside Kate Bush, were long overdue a new Bush! Little hope? X

I have to thank the brilliant, team, brains and artists behind this wonderful little series of songs and videos. It seems like this batch posted by a yet to be confirmed group or artist, is doing very well and arousing zones which have not been tickled for sometime. I have to admit, the viral marketing and lack of info tactic, coupled with brilliant visuals, production songs and a mystery woman, really help push this to another level and polish it off, elevating it, beyond trees and up to the stars. Rumors are circulating that these videos posted on Youtube by - iamamiwhoami or rather I am? Am I? Who am I? Are coming from a certain Joanna Lee from Linköping Sweden. Sooner or later the mystery lady, Joanna or not, should come clean. In the meantime everyone wants to know Who am I? I suspect some serious planning, record label and producers are working here, but I hope it´s a duo or small team of brilliant minds making it, and not the other. Sometime you have to admit that things work, this video really mixs two elements and flips it all on it´s head. Rock it!!!

Nothing to not like here. Bernard Bonnier, it´s alright, it´s bonnie alright..Check the giggling chuckler groove. Bernard was on something here, it´s not so distant from a recent remix from Animal Macgregor for Rock Gods Fast Lady... I say it´s similar, in the sense of fun within. When listening, the song glistens down a toy town train lane, yes, memory's of a child's train set, clunked in my mind, but it´s not clear where this train song is or was going, all I know is, somewhere and no-where. Tonight the song above arrived at my station. Infant and fun acidic grunt funk or laugh acidical grunk pop. If your not into mini acidic rides, then you may well find this journey unimportant, but tonight, I enjoyed listening before I went to sleep..

The year starts with commitment, or at least some kind of resolution. I´d like to think I will make a vow. One vow which is making it´s way around my head, and has been for the last few months is this one here. Yeh, fucking shit amount of named and not so much named, impersonators and supposed House DJ´s everywhere, crawling out of DJ booths in every crevis like viral termites, many of which seem to be people or DJ's playing ACID HOUSE, playing it then may be, but they dont know it, they never saw it, never lived it, yet somehow they are getting paid to represent it. It just feels so wrong, I mean, it's awkward and I think the people can feel that too. The music is as it was, but it really kills me that shit. When it was played in the past it came loaded with so much passion from the booth, these kids never knew it, yet now they spit it out, it's so diluted. The nation has gone. Of course, so many of those that play will not link you to this track, I ask while listening, how can we lift the Nation?

Exactly one month ago today, I started work and put hands to the musical voyage - 'Slow Order'. The drive behind the album(s) V1. & V2. was a personal one. A flash moment and breakage in life which compelled me to move. Motivated by how twisted reality can get, I went onto create. Many a sleepless night has passed between, finally both versions are ready. Now I can rest, as the two albums V1. & V2. and their dripping, textures roll out within a strange lost odyssey. Both versions walk translucently into the darkness, at the end of the end...Your walking bold at times, while at others the whole things folds back on itself like a jellyfish. It's painful in it´s discovery and reform, lost, without direction, but not long after that your made to ask. Am I glued to the underbelly of this time-frame? What´s holding this together? Definitely one of the best Portishead tracks ever! The combination of 808 delivered raw with simple vocal. The addition here combined with Tetsueo - Iron Man visual works, although I expect this is not the official film for the track, nevertheless the combination is worthy.

So dense, so creamy, so full, so rich, so much more than your average, really really, no end to this. You just have to believe it. All and more under your nose, smell the cream and lap it up, baby!x

Yeh, this is real special, you should probably play this one from time to time. I love it, a gesture and a mashed gift with a message for someone young but really for all of us! Amazing how music sometimes just gets lost. This is the best example of a relatively recent cover version which saw no light of day. Nothing, just came out and got lost in the endless wave of new musics. This is a shame for Mechanical Bride as I am sure that millions would indeed enjoy this cover version. It's amazing what you can do with a loop, here this vocal took on a new dimension. Bringing a poor soul with faith, Tom Waits and a certain Gavin Bryars together. Once you have heard this song it should never leave you. Nice to see that at least some of you are lending an ear as this video currently has more than 47,000 views.

It's time for the Magician. An empty sky, a violent sea. When I was a lad in Manchester the 12'' version could be located within my Fathers record collection. This song without doubt is one of my all time desert island disks, an inspiration, in my tender years and even now. Real treasure..

Plenty of Gypsy Music this way in Spain, however Parno Graszt or the White Horse in Romani language play with purity and freedom. Authentic Hungarian Gypsy music, a wonderful source. I love their instruments and the spirit, so humbled and real. This particular song is cheerful, vigorous and beaming with vocal splendour. Certainly caught my ear. Try it, then try deny it. You wont be disappointed.

The prolific James Leyland Kirby has several videos up online via Youtube. Most of which I see and hear with some frequency. This track in particular was one which caught my ear. There I was thinking my dancing times are over, having just spent the best part of 6 weeks on crutches after a recent knee operation, only to discover this wonderful visual crutch dance.

An excerpt from my forthcoming album exploring new music and old romance. The full piece will be available soon. The base of the album evolves around - 80's sythn classic. It's a slow momentous ride, slowed electronics, coupled with romance. A blown fuse point where an end arrived and those epic structural harmonics and old masters before go off the edge. Fluidity get´s lost and melts into contrast, while color collides and swaps itself into expression. In the struggle of sound a blurred new form attempts to emerge, uncertain and without direction. Modulated music, both diminished and expanded. More about this forthcoming release which will be available in several parts on different platforms very soon.

The production here is stunning, love the mix, yeh, it's commercial, but it's my idea of fun, the effects on the vocals, the harp, the percussion and the slices of video injected into the mix. Looking into what constitutes a - lullaby and stumbled across this hallardu, designed for children of India and speakers of Gujarati worldwide. The slower percussion and melody are pleasing, not sure how much I could sleep listening too this but it's certainly sweet.

After looking around on line for Petra Jean Philipson, I could not find a song from her new album titled - Notes on Death. I therefore decided that it was time to upload a taster for you to hear. Petra is touching on a raw nerve with her experiments. This Tubeophany track actually runs at over 13min on the album. I have uploaded a reduced version for you. The album is a mixed canvas of experiments which could well help her land other more theatrical works. Not quite as dark as the new tracks from Passing Yew, but interesting nevertheless.

The legendary Glagsow/Manchester based DJ and Father to myself and James Leyland Kirby Acid Alan used the term 'space cadet', to describe many a person more than I care to ever remember. I like to think of this song as perhaps the music equivalent of what he was referring to. Take advice from Acid Alan and the Space Cadet - be a space cadet, escape reality, move inside walls, go out and eat a meal on Mars, let Robots do the work, live amongst the stars!!! Remember kids the future is to escape reality or at least that's what the Space Cadet believe. Too stupid and too good!

I was never a fan of Andrea Parker, but my old mate Marco P. from Italy - has highlighted this one for me again, time and time again. It has a darkness which strikes a chord, simplicity in electronics. I will also put some old stuff to the Nature Records myself and James used to buy many moons ago when shopping in London, when electronic music was exciting, way back in 1999 and before!!

I just rediscovered Tom Lehrer comical Tango, seems like the right day for this song. Yesterday there was a mascot, no massocar on the drums in El Pero Club Madrid with our man from - The Ruins. I took Yoshida for dinner at ''Jin Jin'', a Chinease restaurant in Madrid, I have a story to tell you about that, after the food, with our bellies full, we laughed about my favourite bar in Madrid 'Palentinos', and the staff who work in it, if you add the age of the two staff that work behind the bar you get a figure of more than 200 years! This strange fact tickled Yosida, but more on that another time. After our giggle, Yosida hit the the drums with mastery loaded with a belly of duck. Tom tom mashing, slashing skills, a tutti pleny.. Here in his installation Messa di Voce Jaap is encapsulated and bound with a special visual which helps extend dimensions and fuel experimentation. After almost 10 years of sitting on a hard-drive somewhere deep in the Australia bush, the old Rank Sinatra, T.T and Animal cover version of the classic 80's love ballad - Love lifts us up where we belong, is out! This version has been electrocuted, shot and hacked to death, not sure if it's a medley or just meddling, either way we didn't as yet get a meddle for it. Not too long ago, I was down in Bristol with my old pirate chums a couple of Dutch ladies and some Ethiopian dog walkers. The Slautery Arms is a very multicultural place indeed! So after a few barrels of ale things got interesting. Alot of the night is not clear, but I do recall the young bar staff being very helpful and lending me a microphone. Next day on my hard-disk I found this song which is a real cracker. I expect more than skulduggery was at hand and hook here but that's how it goes sometimes. I am after all an authentic pirate. I shall be heading down The Slautery again next time I am in blighty, it's the best Tavern that side and I recommend you go soon. Who knows if the winds blow me right, we might able em to put this there disk onto the local juke box. I say, 70 ARRRGH...x
