Arushi Jain - My People Have Deep Roots

Arushi Jain's "My People Have Deep Roots" is an ambient and almost mystical audio journey that weaves together a rich tapestry of sounds, weaving what appears to be Indian culture, and modular synthesis into a sound canvas full of audio emotion. Released under the capable wings of the artist's own imprint, the album invites listeners to embark on a soul-stirring exploration of identity, heritage, and the interconnectedness of humanity. From the very first note, it becomes clear that "My People Have Deep Roots" is a profoundly personal and introspective work. Arushi Jain's ethereal voice, often accompanied by traditional instruments, serves as a bridge between the old and the new, the familiar and the foreign. Her vocals convey a sense of vulnerability and authenticity, drawing the audience into her world. The album's title, "My People Have Deep Roots," reflects Jain's exploration of her own cultural heritage and the profound influence it

We were all pushing out audio at that time, 1997-2000, all of us working our envelopes and audio, making and branding on to sound.  I will never forget doing the sound for Pita at an event in Hassalt, Belguim, I believe it was one of those FAT CAT records events. I can never forget the time or the moment that I was doing the sound in real time for Pita. It was a time wh
