Biography

Hailing from Istanbul, Nilović began as a child prodigy, mastering piano, oboe, and percussion. In the late 1950s, he founded his own rock and roll band. Moving to Paris in 1960, he showcased his skills in nightclubs and later joined Les Doussis, a trio of Greek musicians. Their recordings with Barclay Records marked the start of his career as an arranger and orchestrator for pop artists and TV shows.

In 1967, Nilović co-established Ju Ju Records with singer Davy Jones, creating a series of singles. His unique arrangements caught the attention of André Farry, founder of library music label Éditions Montparnasse 2000 (MP 2000), leading to the release of influential LPs like "Psyc Impressions." His work extended to various projects, pseudonymous releases, and collaborations in Belgium.

In the late 1970s, Nilović shifted focus to composition, gaining recognition in hip-hop circles for sampled tracks. Notably, his song "Underground Session" featured in Dr. Dre's "Loose Cannons" and Jay-Z's "D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)." This legacy led to a Grammy nomination in 2010.
