I don't own this one — back in 1981 I wasn’t yet buying Japanese experimental music, and truth be told, I only discovered this wild little gem quite recently. But what a discovery. Ugomeku Ego is a stunning piece of experimentation, especially considering it was released in 1981. The sound is pretty far out: fractured, raw, but somehow coherent in its own strange logic. It's one of those records that makes you wonder just how many of these brilliant, obscure pockets of creativity were happening under the radar at the time. The 7" features three tracks: A1: Ugomeku Ego A2: LS Disco B: Ambivalence Each track takes its own twist, blending elements of rock, experimental noise, and an almost disorienting sense of rhythm and structure — quite marvelous, nonetheless. At the moment, there's one copy up on Discogs for £111. Definitely not cheap, but for collectors of early Japanese experimental vinyl, this is one of those grails.
Lost and found audio gold, musical jewels and treasure. Soul extremes and borderless suprise.
