Zorba The Greek - Sirtaki / A great way to end the night.

Every record collection has that one timeless piece, that final track which has the power to seal the night with an indelible memory. For us, one of those tracks could at times be "Sirtaki" from 'Zorba The Greek.' This song strikes everyone between their eye and summons celebration transcending language. I recall the nights at El Perro Club in Malasaña, Madrid – those were where our DJ booth would transmit this song and "Sirtaki" would tell everyone that the end was both a closing and a new beginning. The moment those first unmistakable notes hit the speakers, a collective energy would surge through the crowd. This was beyond the cue for last orders; it was the call to all ordering everyone to join in a circle, hold hand and engaged in a shared experience. We were no longer just a mass of party-goers; we became a family. Arms would find shoulders, steps would fall in line, and the room would pulse with a rhythm that even those with two left feet couldn't

Sperm – Shh! Heinäsirkat (1970)

"Heinäsirkat" by the Finnish band Sperm, also known as "Shh! Heinäsirkat," it is without question most groundbreaking - well done lads. Released in 1970, the album featured avant-garde experimental music that was ahead of its time, with a unique blend of psychedelic rock, jazz, and electronic music. It is inspired to know that this album was recorded entirely in a home studio, without any professional recording equipment just like we used to do at V/Vm. Apparently the band members used whatever tools they had at their disposal, including a reel-to-reel tape recorder, a broken amplifier, and even a toy xylophone. I hear so many things here, even some of my own work with Speedranch. Despite the limited resources, we all had, Sperm managed to create a truly innovative and mind-bending album, with tracks that ranged from sparse and haunting to chaotic and frenzied. The album has been cited as an influence on numerous experimental musicians in Finland and beyond, and it
