What can we do with our ashes when we die?  I am a vinyl junky, and have released a few in my time. This could well be a final pressing for me in the future. We could pres our remains into vinyl.   The company  And Vinyly  is provided the opportunity for vinyl enthusiasts.  They actually will take your ashes and press them into vinyl so you can actually become a record.  They offer a few different packages and, like an album, you get two sides to get your message across, albeit each side is only 12 minutes long. According to their website, they say,  “record a personal message, your last will & testament, your own soundtrack or simply press your ashes in to hear your pops and crackles for the minimum approach” A basic package starts at a neat £3,000.   You get up to 30 discs, your rest in vinyl album cover and label artwork (including your birth date and date of passing).  Of course you must supply the music.   If you don’t want your whole body burned and pressed in

Wilbur de Paris & his new New Orleans Jazz 1958 That's A Plenty

That´s plenty - the tune gives the album it´s title, is a well known standard or at least it was back in the day. This version features the sparkling trumpet of Doc Cheatham. Doc is up tempo and keeping this standard exciting from some of the more lackadaisical versions you can hear from time to time in other places. Fast and smokey.

Fragments of our past!

My friend from school and a friend for life Steven Fullerton, just posted this image up on his Facebook account. Without any doubt we were the Scottish Court at the time, the bards, boundless, and without fear. Steve being in the year above me, one whole year older, at that time it was so much. Steven considered me with some respect, yet never truely mentioned it, as a true Glaswegian kid,  nada, spoken. Everything, and any grain of love, would not be spoken, just expressed through gestures, that linger on today.  Back then, in 1990 ish,  each one of us commanded a size-able amount of terrain that respect was mutual, who had more than the other, impossible to say. In our blood all we knew was that we were outsiders, blood from outside living in Manchester, born in Manchester, but we might as well have not been, yet at the same time we were landowners, that is, we owned territory, not the kind you grow vegetables or fruit on, I am talking about an invisible one. The two of

Neil Sedaka - "I Go Ape"

Related to old King Kong! When you hold my hand, I go ape, great, I can see why this was popular and goto to no.9 in the UK charts in 1959. This song is banana splitting my speakers right now, and I´m happy to dedicate this one to a girl named Nur. XX

I´d like to be a veteran hat wearer!

These hats are a quality item. When I pass Chicago next, I will head into Optimo and placing myself an order of prime hat soul, check the craftmanship. The route of this future hat of mine will wander and explore, from Chicago to the great gritty town of Stockport, England a place where hatters live for sure.  Check the link. http://optimo.com/ Hats OFF 2 the HaTTers.

Life is Fine This life is fine The world is mine Though I can’t stop The hands of time The birds all sing And flowers bloom The sun still shines And chases gloom And I can view The sparkling sea And all the stars Just dance with me The clouds, they hide And I must seek The creatures small At me, they peek The grass is cool Beneath my feet The water dew Now wets my cheek I have true friends A family And hope of an Eternity A place where I Will not fear death Where all is sweet Upon my breath Where tears will cease to touch my face And I am blessed By Heaven’s Grace My life is fine The world is mine This is my time To truly shine Eileen Manassian

A most long and sad day. It was a day of work, but not of great progress. The energy in the world was off, I could feel it. It´s almost 3am, and I started this morning at 7.45, that is what you call a full day at it, At least, I didnt sit in traffic. Ending now the night, with possibly the best kind of music for a day like this one. The great man Erskine Hawkins, after digging about I manged to get some info on him!!! 1989 Inductee Lifework Award for Performing Achievement C omposer and trumpet player Erskine Hawkins drew on memories of a neighborhood nightspot for his classic big band standard "Tuxedo Junction", a jazzy number that became the most popular song of the World War II era. Hawkins was born in Birmingham in 1914, the son of a U.S. soldier who lost his life in military action during the first world war. The young musician began playing drums at the age of 7, moved on to the trombone, then decided at the age of 13 to channel his musical energies into playing

David Bowie - RIP - Gave Us Magic all of his life - A Great Loss for British Music and Progress

It´s the last day of Christmas. Loss after loss, so many of the huge starts are leaving us, and now arrived in other cosmic places. David Bowie the White Duke now resting, ashes to ashes. Many and much of all he did, has had and will remain to have - a profund impact for many years to come. A man with an incredible ability to go beyond, and keep pushing through generations, breaking, exploring and defying with a brilliant flamboyant British deterimation, and endless vision. David was always progresive, his own man, who even at the age of 69 remaind himself, faithful to music. Doing it as he wanted until the end, a great loss, more than a Hollywood star, we are thankful, to have witnessed our British megastar RIP. https://video-mad1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hvideo-xpf1/v/l/t42.4659-2/12554857_1259548144060634_1231831770_n.mp4?oh=5d5a1f2d076e8a1ebdfa9230765a6bf5&oe=5696CF38

That's Life [from Sinatra A Man And His Music Part II]

Changing the Tune, this song must be played at my funeral. Do this for me, and if you can, hand out the lyrics, and ask all involved to sing itwith all their heart. I have been a puppet, a pirate a pauper......I´ve been up and over out, and I know one thing, each time I find myself flat on my face, I PICK myself up, and get back in the race. That´s life........
