What can we do with our ashes when we die?  I am a vinyl junky, and have released a few in my time. This could well be a final pressing for me in the future. We could pres our remains into vinyl.   The company  And Vinyly  is provided the opportunity for vinyl enthusiasts.  They actually will take your ashes and press them into vinyl so you can actually become a record.  They offer a few different packages and, like an album, you get two sides to get your message across, albeit each side is only 12 minutes long. According to their website, they say,  “record a personal message, your last will & testament, your own soundtrack or simply press your ashes in to hear your pops and crackles for the minimum approach” A basic package starts at a neat £3,000.   You get up to 30 discs, your rest in vinyl album cover and label artwork (including your birth date and date of passing).  Of course you must supply the music.   If you don’t want your whole body burned and pressed in

Change O´Key Boogie! As the title suggests change of key live here, that is the soloist. There is some fine solo work a bit of an ensemble here and there, swinging all the way.

That´s plenty - the tune gives the album it´s title, is a well known standard or at least it was back in the day. This version features the sparkling trumpet of Doc Cheatham. Doc is up tempo and keeping this standard exciting from some of the more lackadaisical versions you can hear from time to time in other places. Fast and smokey.

This is the one. I believe I already imagined sometime in the long past more than 15 years ago, that some day, I would be able to play this record out and about. It´s with me here in Madrid, with a stack of Soul, Jazz, Blues, and Swing. Here I come Madrid.

My friend from school and a friend for life Steven Fullerton, just posted this image up on his Facebook account. A most long and sad day. It was a day of work, but not of great progress. The energy in the world was off, I could feel it. It´s almost 3am, and I started this morning at 7.45, that is what you call a full day at it, At least, I didnt sit in traffic. It´s the last day of Christmas. Loss after loss, so many of the huge starts are leaving us, and now arrived in other cosmic places. David Bowie the White Duke now resting, ashes to ashes. Many and much of all he did, has had and will remain to have - a profund impact for many years to come. A man with an incredible ability to go beyond, and keep pushing through generations, breaking, exploring and defying with a brilliant flamboyant British deterimation, and endless vision. David was always progresive, his own man, who even at the age of 69 remaind himself, faithful to music.
