Death to All Racist

Clara Rockmore | The Swan

This song just seems to be engraved all over my history, and inserted into so much. Does anyone else feel like this? It might be something to do with having this song played to me whilst being in an outdoor spa in Austria after a wonderful subversive experience at Elevate Festival.  Clara Rockmore's rendition of 'The Swan' is a just such a classic theremin tune. I mean it feels like an old friend. Originally composed by Camille Saint-Saëns as part of 'The Carnival of the Animals,' this piece is known for its lyrical and serene melody. Rockmore's performance captures the delicate and ethereal nature of the music, with the theremin’s unique, otherworldly sound adding an enchanting quality. Her precise control can be seen in this video showing just exactly how much of an intrecate instrument the theramin is. This album reminds me of  what it would be like to have fallen over board in the Mediterranean sea, and somehow after being been washed realising your back in 1992 on a  Balearic Islands  with all of your best friends, and an ear full of water. Hazy, a little fuzzy, but great.
