Jaap Blonk performance - installation Messa di Voce

My old mate Jaap Blonk you have to love him. He really is special. Here in his installation Messa di Voce Jaap is encapsulated and bound with a special visual which helps extend dimensions and fuel experimentation. Really great that these types of pairings happen without doubt something wonderful and an audio-visual delight...

Lost (Held Under) - KK Null / Jim Plotkin

Good to see this track up on Youtube. It's fair to say that this is a classic with distinction. My old mate James Plotkin and KK Null really getting into some deep space and ambience here. Hit's the spot. Classic dark ambience at it's best. Up with the best!

Rank Sinatra - Greatest Hits

After almost 10 years of sitting on a hard-drive somewhere deep in the Australia bush, the old Rank Sinatra, T.T and Animal cover version of the classic 80's love ballad - Love lifts us up where we belong, is out! This version has been electrocuted, shot and hacked to death, not sure if it's a medley or just meddling, either way we didn't as yet get a meddle for it. Amazing how these experiments get lost and resound. The road indeed is long and certainly mountains are in the way. Check the disk, it's Rank Sinatra at his best and Animal in Test!! Animal Macgregor - Cavern Tavern Fast Lady Remix

Not too long ago, I was down in Bristol with my old pirate chums a couple of Dutch ladies and some Ethiopian dog walkers. The Slautery Arms is a very multicultural place indeed! So after a few barrels of ale things got interesting. Alot of the night is not clear, but I do recall the young bar staff being very helpful and lending me a microphone. Next day on my hard-disk I found this song which is a real cracker. I expect more than skulduggery was at hand and hook here but that's how it goes sometimes. I am after all an authentic pirate. I shall be heading down The Slautery again next time I am in blighty, it's the best Tavern that side and I recommend you go soon. Who knows if the winds blow me right, we might able em to put this there disk onto the local juke box. I say, 70 ARRRGH...x

Larkin Grimm - Blond and Golden johns

Intimate, charming, enchanting, playful. Take in regular doses..

Jean Michel Jarre - Happiness is a sad song (1969)

Yeh, the title. The main man Jean Michel Jarre with a more experimental moment, certainly influential. Pushing the knobs, hitting pitch shifter and dropping the octaves! Is this a sad song?

Music Inspired by Murder Ballads and Lovecraft

I spent the whole weekend locked away like a bear in a cave. I was experimenting with various structures and researching -The Murder Ballad theme. One which has quite some history, alot more milage, yet on the surface we find the blood of Nick Cave splattered everywhere and very little more mentioned below the surface. The gist of the Murder Ballad is that it tells a story of just that - Murder. Seems that mankind has a morbid interest in blood. The music I am preparing has Frankenstein or Dr. Jekyell orientation, whilst remaining smoky cold with shivers in a H.P. Lovecraft way. The main theme from a forthcoming release has been hung on the Tube here for you. This is an edit of the rather long track which formed the backbone of my first experiments. A developed version of this along with others coving the chilling theme will be available in 2012.

Jansky Noise - I draw The Line Today

Do you remember the first kiss? A line taken from PJ. I dedicate this version to someone special, as I look up into the stars and out to deep space. I hope you enjoy. Drawing the line and putting an end to things today.

Homenaje Tracks up on Youtube

I finally managed to upload some of the tracks from the Homenaje Album I released sometime ago. The album was inspired by the oneness of the people shortly after the terrible attack here in Madrid 11M. Some of you were asking for the songs as the disk is impossible to find, so now you have the majority of them. One of my old time favourites was this one by Difra. The track from Difra pretty much sums up how I am feeling today. Timeless track, love that effect on the guitar. Falling, like something from a David Lynch film that was never made....Hope you enjoy this and the other tracks up...

Chet Baker,"I'm a Fool to Want You".

Enjoying this smoke filled version of the track...

Mick Harris & Martyn Bates , The Cruel Mother

Def Poetry Jam - Saul Williams (Coded Language)

FATCAT and FISHFACE CRACKAAR!

Crossfires - Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

This is nuts, what were these guys taking. Love the way this just changes from straight to not! Real horror fun, real double lives and playing. These guys apparently recorded on the White Whale Label for a spell the suddenly turned into turtles. So that's what happens when you play this way!!!

The Iron Man! Cristina has gone!!

All gone, she's gone, decided it's best, No longer together, now just a past tense. A lack of sharing time, not inviting to stay, An eclipse happened, emotions in disarray. Out of the blue, she said it's not what she wants, During the eclipse, the words cut like sharp taunts. I warned her that July would be tough, But I promised her Canada, that should be enough. Now she can't wait, and I'm stuck in a bind, I need to work in July, but for her, I'm all aligned. It's crazy how it ended, I'm left in shock, She dropped off my camera and flip-flops, like ticking clocks. I still want to take her to Canada, show her the sights, But now it's too late, she's gone without any fights. I'll always remember the love shared, But now it's time to move on, to show I'm not scared. Life goes on, memories fade, But I'll always cherish the love that we made.

suave!

Dont cry!

I may have a reason to cry, but I wont, not now, but speaking of crying, Toecutter long term collaborator with V/Vm Test Records, brings his brilliance to the showroom.. Out, in direct it must be a bomb!

Teebs, Bern Rhythm, this video works!

A song from the Deep Blue here.

Specially trawled out of the sea for Valentines day. A deep sea recording with aquatic vocals by senor Elephant Fish. Indeed our fish here does sound like he has the bends or maybe he's just missing company to swim with, either way this tune could well be from a submerged island close to Atlantis.

Carolina Chocolate Drops is having it on the Kazoo - at WDVX's Blue Plate Special

Carolina Chocolate Drops' live cover version of "Hit 'Em Up Style" is nothing short of incredible. From the moment the song begins, the energy is electric, and it's impossible not to be swept up in the excitement. The band's performance is truly captivating, with vocalist Rhiannon Giddens delivering a powerful and soulful performance that is both braw, raw and refined. The addition of the violin brings a unique texture to the song, adding to the overall vibe and making it grassroot, raw and to the bone. What's truly remarkable is how they make the song their own, infusing it with their unique southern style and flippy energy. While the original version of the song is catchy and upbeat, the Carolina Chocolate Drops take it to a whole new elevated level, this performance is something special. Overall, Carolina Chocolate Drops' live cover version of "Hit 'Em Up Style" WDVX's Blue Plate Special is a must-see for anyone who appreciates gre
